Raj Thackeray to Continue Battle Against the North

There is nothing wrong with Raj Thackeray, or for that matter anyone, trying to defend the Marathi pride, culture and people. We should all do that! It’s just that he has neither identified the threat accurately nor adopted acceptable and civilised methods for his noble mission. In fact, the tactic he has resorted to seems to support his personal political ambitions more than the professed love for the people of Maharashtra. It is well known that in 2004 he had spelt out his ambition to become the Chief Minister of the State. In pursuit of his ambition, he broke away from his Uncle Bal Thackray’s party to form his own outfit, the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena, in Dec 2005.

There being no forward movement on his personal ambitions since then, Raj has come up with this brain wave to take him closer to becoming the State’s Chief Minister.Attempting to create a North – South divide and deploying his Maharashtra Navnirman Sena to disturb the peace in the State and attacking a celebrity to draw instant attention, should clearly give the people of Maharashtra a better comprehension of the intellectual level of their future Chief Minister. According to him, an attack on Amitabh Bachchan’s house was not a goonda act. Hopefully, he will give his version of goondaism to the people in the public rally he is holding in Mumbai's Shivaji Park on March 19th, a place where his uncle Balasaheb holds mass rallies. He will, no doubt, try to thrust his philosophies of goondaism, civilised behavior and attacks on innocent people from outside the state in a firy speech. The predictability factor in the actions of politicians of his ilk is transparent but not laughable anymore. People in the past have often been talen in by such manouvering / manipulation of self seeking politicians in the country. It remains for the people to show this new age Don Quixote his place in modern India.
